By not being a middleman - letting the buyer and seller meet directly!

The IT/Tech consulting market has turnover of more then 300 billion SEK in Sweden. That's approximately 300.000 consultants. The market is huge and isn't limited to neither country nor industry.

Brainville is a disruptive new player on the market, since we don't take part of the transaction between buyer and seller. 13.000 companies use us and 3000 register per year without marketing efforts. We have a product that works. Let's scale up and turn to an untapped part of the market - SME buyers!

The problem this product solves

The unemployment rate in Sweden is 6-7%. The equivalent in the consulting industry, measured as the time between consulting gigs, is about 10-20%!

As a freelancer or consultant, finding your next gig can be really hard. If you're like most people, you use your personal network or the myriad of small private networks on the web. Finding your next consultant is equally problematic.

How the product solves it

Brainville is an aggregator for the consulting industry acting as a marketplace. More than 13.000 companies have tapped into the power of the sharing economy, creating the largest network of freelancers and consultants in the Nordics.

Dagens industri claimed that we're "Blocket for consultants" since we aggregate all gigs and consultants on one platform. About 25.000 gigs were published in Brainville in 2017.
Just by registering on our platform any user instantly gets acess to a larger network than it's possible to create on their own.
The magazine Internetworld wrote that we "have demonstrated the need for a marketplace and solved the problem".

Buyers of consultants (end clients, consulting agencies, staffing firms, consultancies with subcontractors) can easily find the perfect consultant by searching or posting gigs in Brainville.

Sellers of consultants (freelancers, consultancies, consulting agencies) can find far more gigs in Brainville than in their personal networks. They can also share consultant profiles, thus enabling clients to find them.

Competitive landscape

Freelancer portals such as Freelancer and Upwork have millions of freelancers in their databases. They also act as a middleman charging a margin.

Small marketplaces such as Deskhero and Skillfinder have a similar business model.

Job portals, such as Monster, Indeed, Jobsafari, Blocket and LinkedIn are used to post gigs and, with some difficulty, find consultants.

Consulting agencies, VMS-platforms, staffing firms and consultancies have private subcontractor networks. They focus on clients with a large and recurring need for consultants and act as a middleman charging a margin. We do not consider them competition.

Boost gig
Buyers boost gigs to get more attention from consultants. Boosted gigs have a different graphic profile and improved ranking in lists and mails.

No delay
Premium members get access to gigs instantly. Freemium members have to wait a number of hours. For a fee, this delay can be removed by the buyer.

Ads
We allow a limited amount of relevant ads for a fee.

Use of funds

Brainville is already the Gig Marketplace in the Nordics. We have a product that generates revenue.
What we need is more buyers, especially SME who normally hires just one or a few consultants per year. This is an untapped market.
The funding will primarily be used for marketing/PR purposes. A part of it will be used for FTEs within marketing, sales and development.

Risk Analysis

Economy
In a boom, it is the seller's market. Fewer consultants will have trouble finding gigs, which will affect our Premium revenue. On the other hand, buyers of consultants will have more trouble finding consultants.

Market
The magic of the sharing economy is not apparent to everyone. We've reached the early adopters and are well on our way to the early majority.
Competitors with lots of cash and job portals switching focus to freelancers could be a problem.

Solution
We're well known in our industry, but mostly used by sellers of consultants. We need to consolidate our position and win the "early majority" with marketing efforts.
