We're making a documentary film about the homeless dogs in Thailand and about Michael Baines, a man that's committed to helping them.
Hans met Michael on one of his visits in Thailand. Michael were passing around a jar to collect money for the stray dogs in the neighborhood of the restaurant he worked at. Hans was so moved by the work Michael did that he really wanted to get a word out about him and what better medium then film? He quickly contacted me, his niece Anna who's a filmmaker and an animal friend! When we contacted Michael he was onboard and we found out he doesn't just pass around a jar to collect money, he also drives around on his spare time looking for strays to feed and get them medical help. That's only one part of it.
We started filming in may with help from funds from Credentia (and our own pockets) that paid for the the first trip. Our focus was on the work Michael does and the dogs, what's the situation for the dogs and what we can do to help them. While that's still our priority I found and even more capturing story during my stay in Thailand. Michaels story. What motivates him to continue helping these dogs alone? What brought him to this point? - And most importantly, what can WE do to help Michael?
We're going to Thailand again in about a month and we need your help to make this film possible, without the funds the filming will be so much harder! We are passionate about this story and we need your help to get it out there and to bring it to the next level! We're planning a festival tour, DVDs aswell as apperance on TV? We also want to use some of the material to show school kids in Thailand how to act around stray dogs and what they can do to help!

Filmmaker - Anna Tjernström Producer - Hans Tjernström
We want to make a feel-good documentary about Michael and the dogs of Thailand, there are a lot of passionate people around who are eager to help, maybe you're one of them? So we can't see how this won't have a happy ending. "Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever."
- We want to travel to film the documentary this December!
- The editing will start in January and I hope to finish it by March-April!
- The film will go for a festival tour before it's released on DVD for our funders!
