Where do you go to find new and exciting products? With good design and high quality? From the best independent designers in Scandinavia?
I didn’t know where to go. So I created Nordic Design Collective. We offer a platform for designers to sell their products. We take care of the customer and they can focus on designing and shipping products.
But at the moment we are only shipping within Sweden, and it is my firm belief that we need to go international to grow. We are already getting international requests from all around the world, and want to be able to offer our recognized Nordic design worldwide. And wouldn’t you love to be able to buy this stuff from all around the world? We need your help to do it! The press love us and our customers loves us. We have a proven businessmodel and it’s easily scalable. Please join me in bringing independent, fresh Nordic design to the rest of the world!
My company, Designmarknaden i Sverige AB, was launched in 2008. Our first site was Signerat.se which offer a platform for Swedish handicraft and designproducts. The platform and businessmodel has been proven with 9000 happy customers and 230 active designers.
Nordic Design Collective is a development of that model with focus on internationalization, independent design entrepreneurs and better profitability. We launched in march 2012 and in just 5 short months been getting a lot of press, 600 paying customers, 55 designers. Our turn-over is already equal to Signerats, and conversionrates and average order value are significantly higher than on Signerat.
Our plan for expansion includes the following actions: - Technical development to enable internationalization - Recruitment of more talented designers - Marketing and brand building
Market, competition and opportunities
We know there is a great interest and appreciation of Nordic design throughout the world. Judging by the success of Etsy.com (525 MUSD in sales 2011) and Fab.com (150 MUSD in expected sales 2012), the global interest of design and finding new ways to connect with independent designers is growing rapidly.
So let’s get together to help our Nordic independent designers reach the world! I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
