By Ida Wiberg Björnbären is a German-Swedish daycare center. We serve children in the age of 12 months up to School age. We are now working on the startup of the kindergarten, and need all the help we can get from supporting people. As a parents‘ initiative we are an officially registrated non profit association.
Skolor - Crowdfunding för skolor

Björnbären is a German / Swedish preschool under construction.

As a parent initiative, we are a non-profit organization and all work done by committed parents who want to help start up a high-quality preschool, and have the opportunity to influence the final outcome. We are in the current situation a group of about 20 parents who are actively working to open pre-school in January 2013. The premise is that children can take part of two cultures and learn two languages. We offer educational activities for children aged 1-6 years. The activities of the preschool is based on a concept that aims at an early language development and the development of communication skills. The starting point in our educational concept is also based on developing the child's self esteem, this including from a well-developed language.

Mission

Björnbärens operating principle is based on:

Offering Munich's best language preschool.
Our children to get an early language development through a well thought-out concept.
To offer a safe and stimulating environment where children and parents encounter involved adults who sees and promotes each child's potential for development in interaction with others.
The preschool is characterized by an attitude that encourages play and learning in which language and communication permeates our approach.

Our values
Our values ??imbued with respect for each individual child's needs. Our concept and our educational principles involved in developing the important factors in the child's development as language, social competence and desire to learn. Our most important task is to develop the child's sense of self and ability to interact with others - where the language is one of the most important tools.

What is happening now?
We are currently looking for premises with utemöjligheter in central Munich, at about 200-300 square meters. Equipment will be needed for the purpose of the activity can be met. The indoor environment will be tailored to the needs of children.
- We plan to hire two German-speaking and two Swedish-speaking teachers at the preschool. We believe that our people are our most important resource. This means that the recruitment, skills development, commitment, and motivation along with systematic work environment is a priority. At preschool, both preschool teachers / educators and nanny work. Our staff will be committed, creative and well educated. Of course, they put the kids in mind and be very good at creating a safe environment.

When I along with my family moved to Munich for a couple of years ago, we quickly realized that it was very difficult to get a day care spot. When I later started investigating, I realized that there were a many Swedes in Munich. Many people with children! I along with other parents then started our project to open Germany's first Swedish-speaking kindergarten.

Many kindergarten in Munich's are profit company and a place for a child can cost over 15 000 Swedish kronor per month. A sum that very few are able to pay.

We want a day care with a focus on language development, which is accessible to all. A nursery with great parental involvement that welcomes all children, German and Swedish. We also want to spread the culture of Sweden in Germany.

We have worked on the project for over a year and now reached a stage where we found a local, and have set a start date in August.

We are in great need of sponsors and donors at this stage, because we have a lot of costs associated with the start. Friendly Swedes have already donated Swedish children's books and toys but we also need money in our cash to invest in renovation of premises, purchase of furniture and recruitment of staff.

Any contributions are gratefully received!
